Steam turbines and plants from are among the most

emissions-reducing in-furnace and post-combustion measures allow them to
comply with even the most stringent environmental standards.

For highest efficiency electricity production we have developed a line of
turbines ranging from 50 to 1100 MW. For highly flexible co-generation/industrial
applications we offer solutions from 1 to 150 MW.
Our reference steam SSP5-5000, SSP5-6000, SSP5-6000 covers the
most frequently ordered output ranges (300-500 MW, 500-700 MW and 700-1000
MW respectively). This design integrates advanced engineering into a
modular reference plant concept.
For lower life-cycle costs we have developed, refined and implemented the
technology for supercritical steam in numerous plants,
and thus made efficiencies of 46% and above possible. Our State-of-the-art
technology, including steam turbines, generators, BENSON boiler
technology and I&C systems are key in achieving this.

Moving into the future with proven
innovation
Effectively combating the greenhouse effect calls for energy generation
that does not add to CO2 emissions. And this is exactly the basic idea
behind biomass s: to take advantage of this naturally occurring
fuel as an energy source in a way that is useful, environmentally sound
and cost-effective, and thus to contribute effectively to the protection
of the environment. Because the carbon dioxide emissions produced by
burning natural fuels are reabsorbed through plant photosynthesis during
the next growing period, no additional carbon dioxide enters the
environment.
As a result, government-supported programs have been established all over
the world to increase investor interest in this future-oriented
technology. These can also be of benefit to you.
As your turnkey project partner, we supply biomass s with
capacities up to 50 MWel that cost-effectively generate heat and
electricity using ecologically sound technology.
Our plants are specially designed
for use with various fuel sources, including by-products of the wood
processing industry, waste wood and by-products of the agricultural and
forest industries such as residues from olive oil production, bagasse from
sugar production and rice husks. In cooperation with our customers, who
are experienced operators, we have developed standardized plant designs to
suit a wide range of industrial applications.
Input from operators is
reflected in our standardized biomass technology concept, SiecoLine
BioPower. Having set a goal of offering high-availability plants to the
market, we developed SiecoLine BioPower as a product-type biomass power
plant.
With input from experienced
operators and suppliers it is based on a design-to-operate principle. The
is based on a modular system. It incorporates not only modules
used in traditional fossil-fuel s such as turbine generators,
condenser plants, and feedwater systems, but also biomass-specific modules
such as the steam generator and fuel handling systems.
We also looked at process engineering, economics and availability criteria
in selecting the optimum elements for a modular system. The scope of
standardization covers software, engineering and plant equipment.

The three shaft industrial gas turbine SGT-500 is a light weight, high efficiency, heavy duty machine. It operates reliably in the 15-20 MW power range and can handle a variety of fuels. For both, industrial and mechanical drive, the SGT-500 is a proven unit. The SGT-500 is available as a factory assembled package and provides an excellent power-to-weight ratio. Moreover, the SGT-500 has successfully undergone a comprehensive test program on heavy fuel oil for marine applications.
In order to make the best use of changes in the volumetric flow from inlet to outlet, the SST-700 turbine is divided into two different modules: a high-pressure turbine (HP) and a low-pressure turbine (LP), operating at different speeds. The two modules are combined to provide the turbine configuration that is most suitable for a specific application. However, each module can also be utilized on its own, e.g. the high-pressure module can be used as a separate back-pressure unit.
Optimum performance is assured by choosing dimensions for each cylinder appropriate to volumetric flow and by using two different and optimized speeds for the HP and LP turbines. Internally controlled process steam extraction provides a constant extraction pressure over a broad range of steam flows, a feature that makes the SST-700 steam turbines both flexible and easy to operate. Bleed extractions are available and can be equipped with external pressure control valves.
With a symmetrical barrel type casing and small dimensions of the hot parts, resulting in low thermal and mechanical inertia, the SST-700 turbine can accept very short start-up times and rapid load changes.
